Ice Skating in Montreal

3190120519_85efcd2fb7.jpgIce skating is an age-old tradition in Montreal and there are many options for partaking in this much-loved activity. There are both indoor and outdoor rinks available all over the city such as The Quays Skating Rink or Atrium Le 1000 de la Gauchetière. There are also several free outdoor rinks, such as the one found in Notre Dame de Grace Park. Have you gone skating this winter? Where do you like to go?

  • I greatly enjoy The Quays Skating Rink in the Old Port. It’s really amusing, there’s special lighting around the skating rinks, and they play different music types for each day of the week. I love to go on Friday nights, the music is from the 80’s and 90’s, the lights are arranged to go with the theme “Retro Fridays”. The skating rinks are open for the good part of the day, and you can also rent a pair of skates for a small price. The one inconvenient is that there is a fee to access the Quays, it cost around six dollars for an adult. I encourage everyone to go skating at the Old Port, it is a great experience.

  • I have been to an ice skating rink this past winter, at bonaventure metro! Though I suck at it, it is a fun "sport" and it is always fun to fall and get back up and act like noone saw you and you continue on, in my case:)
